"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord.
What you see here is an angel that is hanging on our tree, she is made of "abaca" hemp otherwise known too as Manila hemp. If you click on the picture, you will see a magnified view of things and you will also notice that the stars and stuff are also made of Manila hemp. Hemp is a good decorative material, it is pretty too, well at least to me, but then as usual, I am biased, but then you know that by now too.
At any rate, don't leave this page without stopping a bit and consider what the angel just said, that is the point - no more fear, Jesus has come, God has provided for you(us) a Saviour. Amen

If the Marc C you know is the same one we know, then he and his wife will be here in the States soon and will be visiting us the first week of Jan.
Oops...I responded to this before I saw your post over on my blog. More info over there.
Ok, I emailed him too about the church contacts and about you.

I think it's a great angel!
It's 0938 Christmas Eve here -- and being in the northern hemishpere, COLD!
Maybe one of these days I'll have Christmas on the beach like my Aussie room-mate used to talk about! Ain't gonna happen in Omaha!
But wherever it happens it's Christmas and here's wishing you a very merry one!
I toasted a coco drink for you PE. God bless you and have a merry one too.

Hey Lito -- just got done with Santa duty, if you know what I mean, logged on and here's a link about "Midnight Mass" so I read where this year's nativity scene at the Vatican showed Jesus' birth in Joseph's house in Nazareth, which officials explained was done to show Jesus was born everywhere for everyone.
Bless us and save us, Mrs O'Davis!
Not at all that he isn't born in the hearts of believers everywhere and came for everyone -- but you don't have to jack with the story to make the point! Then again, I guess when you're Rome, you do. Incredible! I posted about it, along with my feeling for our youth group's candlelight service.
I'm sure Herr Schuetz will build a bridge (wink, geek pun, pontifex maximus!) out of it, but I gotta tell ya, sometimes I'm so glad I'm Lutheran I could just shout, and occasionally do!
We will have some echo of Los Tres Reyes in our house -- I see in Mother Spain there's demonstrations against Santa Claus, because gifts are supposed to be brought by the three kings, not a guy from an American cartoonist. Growing up, my dad, who wasn't Spanish at all, always called it "Little Christmas" and now that I'm the dad the boys get one more gift on Epiphany.
I haven't forgotten about Nietzsche, or universals for that matter, but I'm going to have to blog first about the Twelve Days of Christmas, Los Tres Reyes/Epiphany and Rome screwing that up too with making Epiphany a movable feast after centuries of Christian use.
One year, as a little geek, I set up our nativity scene with the kings at the other side of the room, and each day moved them closer until they were at the manger on Epiphany! This year I guess the star leads them to Joseph's place in Nazareth to show the star leads all believers everywhere. How about that?
6 January is a holiday in PR. Not sure about the PI.
Season's greetings to you and yours. Feeling appropriately mellow. Enjoy the rest of the break. I hope Santa was kind.
P.E.

Hahaha! You gotta be kiddin me right? No? And yet, people are wondering why they do not get you.
Correct me, it is simple, in my observation, you found catholicism not in the Rome but in Wittenberg. The ex-Lutherites really seem to spin off on this, they just could not get it. If you were and ex-RC you would get it. Experience always trumps youth.
Jacking the story is polite form of saying, they do sophistry on this, no?
BTW Come down under, I will show you around,
DP,
My warm wishes to you too bro.
