A brief commercial break

We interrupt our regular programming.

I was about to post again one of Larry's comments but I thought we should interrupt our "celebration" (nope!) of Calvin with a brief ad.

I am the proud Dad of the last girl shown on this Qantas ad. Of course it has been 10 years since, and she has grown mature but I have not stopped being proud of her.

Wonderful! No temptation to channel surf during that commercial. They obviously saved the best for last, didn't they, Dad?

Joel,

Thanks bro. Dads are not biased as you are aware yourself. LOL ;-)

Dear Kuya,

Thanks for showing this again!

Looks like it's a 'time from time' thing, i.e. putting the ad up is a 'must' at least four times a year? ;-)

Dear Kuya,

I was thinking ... I fear that confessional Lutherans, that is, genuine confessional Lutherans are becoming a rare breed these days. It was already quite challenging in the days of Sasse, what more in our times. But I thank Our Good Shepherd for choosing us poor sinners in this part of the world, Asia and Australasia and fellow Asians to bear witness to confessional truth!

Thanks for showing this again!

I am sure you have seen it, it was Qantas' signature ad for the last decade. Each couple of years they pick from the Australian Girls Choir and National Boys Choir. The kids go through a grilling to get in.

Re:Confessionalism.

It is quite rare. If we were Charismatics we will be popular, the truth is that Lutherans are not pictured specially in the urban cities in Asia. They are usually in the urban areas and the pastors are quite poor.

Thanks for the internet we can have fellowship, even remotely.

Kuya.

Dear Kuya,

I really hope I can come and visit you in Australia one of these days ...!

AS,

Include in one of your holidays Melbourne. It is no longer prohibitive, the fare prices are getting cheaper. We have room here. I just had Pr. August stopped over for a couple of days, he is the head of http://www.asiafocus.org.au it is an independent missions group to Asia.

Best weather for Melbourne is Feb-April. Not too hot not too cold. Hopefully I still do not have much work when you come, I can have more time showing you around.

Blessings

Beautiful voices! It was fun to see your little girl there, too. How NEAT to have the privilege of singing in such a spendid group. Thanks for sharing. ;-)
