I think in apologetics work we need to consider not falling into this complex.
This complex happens when we think that we are the only ones who are concerned for the purity of the Gospel or doctrine. Do you feel like that? Then don't.
Consider what God said to Elijah (my version) -- "try not to take yourself so seriously, I got people here.... besides you."

Lol - Often the apologists attitude is interpreted as them being the only one concerned for the truth. It is a battle on both fronts. The first being one of not presenting that attitude. The second being not holding that view.
God bless,
Matt.
Heheeh, Bro Matt,
I knew an Aussie would be the first to appreciate the thought! I am thankful that we blokes have been trained not to take ourselves so so so seriously, we could wind up in despair if we are not careful.
God bless,
LPC
PS. I tried buying that Holfstader book when I was in Borders yesterday arvo, no luck.
Great post!
It's hard walking the balance beam of the defense of the truth over the pit of spiritual pride.
God have mercy.
JK,
Bro...I am thankful that we blokes have been trained not to take ourselves so so so seriously, we could wind up in despair if we are not careful.
I ask for your apologies, I detected exactly what I am to do.
Lord have mercy, indeed!
I guess it gets frustrating when you do hard work of explaining the good news of Christ Jesus our Lord. But we are not to despair and think we are the only ones who are Christians!
